~ sony music - final outcome ~

The requirements needed to be presented to the web developer are wireframes and prototypes. But  I’ve created a ‘cheat sheet’ to go along with the files. This gives a clear overview of each design decision within the prototypes.

It clearly gives the specific elements such as typeface and codes for colour needed to produce a consistent, informed and accurate website.

To summarise, my approach to this brief has been minimal. Considering time and cost of development was a large consideration in creating minimal amount of wireframes that can be easily adapted to content and editable in the future. Typeface, colour choices and overall aesthetic choices were all informed heavily by the album artwork, target audience and personal style of the band. The layout, transitional effects and function of the design was informed by research into user experience.

Overall I think this website design would be successful in creating pre-sales of the album. The inclusion of social media sharing and advertising of the sales option at every opportunity would help it greatly. The simplicity makes is accessible and understandable to any audience. I think i’ve given a good amount of information and the use of moving (gif) prototypes would make production much easier as I could communicate with the web developers visually rather than just through description.
